On Friday 22 October 2004, the annual Volunteers' Dinner was held at Rokpa House .. our way of saying a small "thank you" to all those who give their time and effort to Rokpa, and who help make the centre run so efficiently.
The pumpkin and sweet potato soup was followed by lamb casserole .. or aubergine casserole for the vegetarian diners .. with rice, potatoes and turnip, which was in turn followed by individual rich chocolate puddings. Thanks to our volunteer chefs Lisa, Craig and Agathe for all their efforts in the kitchen .. very much appreciated and compliments from all!
Our Treasurer of the past five years, Alison Woods, had decided earlier this year to stand down, and the opportunity was taken to thank her for all her meticulous hard work in handling the finances, both here at Rokpa Glasgow and in liaising with Samye Ling. Alison will be passing on her knowledge and experience to Mims Robertson, who now takes up the mantle ....
